Overview
The proposed building sits in the centre of the site following the front line of the existing surrounding buildings. Making use of natural resources the windows openings design is orientated to take best advantage of solar gain from the East.
The existing trees on the site and boundary masonry stone walls will be maintained respecting the existing visual character of the boundary from the public road A815 Marine Parade and surrounding views.
The proposed finishes for new exterior sections are mainly timber cladding. We believe the proposed timber cladding finish is well represented when compared to the style of neighbouring buildings. The sustainable use of resources and CO2 reduction are of increasing importance given climate change and timber cladding, with its excellent insulation properties and low carbon footprint, is a sustainable and cost- effective solution in the proposed design.
